Ensure that all aspects of site environmental, health and safety are managed in compliance with applicable laws and in conformance with the DRS EH&S Policy
Ensure that a proactive safety program is developed and implemented, complete with metrics
Interface with and manage relationships with all applicable government and regulatory agencies
Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety violations; prepare reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions
Advise senior leadership on safety performance, risks, and mitigation strategies
Design and deliver safety training programs for employees, supervisors, and contractors
Coordinate emergency preparedness, response planning, and drills
Monitor safety metrics, trends, and KPIs; drive continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in safety management
Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, risk management frameworks, and safety management systems
Demonstrated experience leading safety programs in medium to large organizations (300+ employees preferred)
Professional safety certification (e.g., CSP, CHMM, ASP, CIH, CSHM, or equivalent) is highly desirable
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to work effectively in a structured, security-conscious environment
