Providing individual and group therapy in a mental health outpatient treatment and recovery services setting
Conduct screenings and assessments in accordance with evidence-based screening tools for depression, trauma, substance use, and risk and others
Use sequential evidence screening for risk of violence including suicide and utilize risk management protocols to appropriately manage and intervene
Develop person/family-centered, recovery-oriented treatment plans and review in collaboration with client, collaterals, and consented stakeholders
Coordinate with CASES psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, peers, case managers, and administrative staff
Utilize best and evidence-based approaches to treatment consistent with CASES’ organizational culture; health/mental health integration, rehabilitation and recovery, and understanding incarceration on treatment engagement
Ensure timely and accurate documentation using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR); document all services in accordance with CASES policies, NYS Office of Mental Health regulations and all relevant federal laws
Provide crisis intervention services as deemed appropriate and participate in the 24-hour emergency phone coverage on a rotating basis
The position is co-located with other programs, fostering collaboration and integrated service delivery across teams
Help ensure we maintain a safe working environment by reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions, e.g., liquid spill in hallway, to the appropriate facilities staff member or supervisor
Requirements
Current New York State LCSW/LMSW/LMHC
Strong passion to work with those impacted by the criminal legal system
At least two years of work experience working with individuals diagnosed with a mental illness or substance use disorder
Demonstrated experience with diverse adults receiving mental health treatment, including delivery of treatment to individuals with serious mental illness, functional impairments and psychosocial needs (homelessness, justice involvement, poverty, unemployment)
