Role Overview

• Providing individual and group therapy in a mental health outpatient treatment and recovery services setting
• Conduct screenings and assessments in accordance with evidence-based screening tools for depression, trauma, substance use, and risk and others
• Use sequential evidence screening for risk of violence including suicide and utilize risk management protocols to appropriately manage and intervene
• Develop person/family-centered, recovery-oriented treatment plans and review in collaboration with client, collaterals, and consented stakeholders
• Coordinate with CASES psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, peers, case managers, and administrative staff
• Utilize best and evidence-based approaches to treatment consistent with CASES’ organizational culture; health/mental health integration, rehabilitation and recovery, and understanding incarceration on treatment engagement
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR); document all services in accordance with CASES policies, NYS Office of Mental Health regulations and all relevant federal laws
• Provide crisis intervention services as deemed appropriate and participate in the 24-hour emergency phone coverage on a rotating basis
• The position is co-located with other programs, fostering collaboration and integrated service delivery across teams
• Help ensure we maintain a safe working environment by reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions, e.g., liquid spill in hallway, to the appropriate facilities staff member or supervisor

Requirements

• Current New York State LCSW/LMSW/LMHC
• Strong passion to work with those impacted by the criminal legal system
• At least two years of work experience working with individuals diagnosed with a mental illness or substance use disorder
• Demonstrated experience with diverse adults receiving mental health treatment, including delivery of treatment to individuals with serious mental illness, functional impairments and psychosocial needs (homelessness, justice involvement, poverty, unemployment)
• Bilingual
