Reports to the Corporate Controller and primarily responsible for day-to-day operations of our accounting staff (2) and accounts payable team (2)
Develops and leads a team of four accounting and accounts payable specialists who are responsible for billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation
Assumes full stewardship of all accounting processes and ensures the ledger is closed accurately in four working days each month for distribution on the fifth day
Perform analysis needed to craft technically challenging journal entries related to our payroll and manufacturing overhead
Reviews journal entries and account reconciliations generated by the team to ensure accuracy and compliance with the Company’s accounting practices
Analyzes month end results to ensure accuracy and full understanding of business performance
Partners with the accounts payable team to ensure prompt processing of all of the Company’s obligations
Prepares a weekly vendor payment proposal and facilitate its review with the supply chain team and Corporate Controller
Reviews the bi-weekly payroll proposal for accuracy prior to its release
Acts as the focal point for engagements with our external auditors and tax preparers
Collaborates with the billing and collections team to ensure accurate recognition of revenue and bad debts
Requirements
8+ years of relevant professional experience including 2-3 years in a supervisory capacity
Bachelor’s degree in business management or accounting
CPA or relevant professional designation, preferred
Strong familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Understanding of cost accounting concepts in a manufacturing environment
Service oriented and ready to dive into the details, acting as a player-coach
Able to adapt and identify solutions to challenges as they arise in the normal course of business
Able to communicate clearly verbally and in writing across the organization and with third parties
Able to expertly sort, analyze, and manipulate data in Microsoft Excel
Focus on process with an ability to consistently apply and maintain standard business practices
