Assists in the planning and performing of mining engineering duties related to development and production at assigned site
Assists in the development of mining plans to support short and/or long-range planning and production goals
Participates in engineering feasibility studies to define proper mining methods, equipment selection, mine site facilities, and manpower and production requirements.
Monitors mining methods and equipment, with a view to improving performance
Assists in developing and managing mine, mine ventilation, waste dumps and stockpile designs
Assists in identifying courses of action to improve safety, operational efficiencies, control production costs and protect the environment.
Perform other duties as required
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mining or Geological Engineering with no experience required
Knowledge of the principles and practices of mining engineering
Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions
Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
