Being a production champion for the in-line blown MDO process designed to enhance film properties; owning the process and being the division resource for ensuring all plants running MDO meet all critical to quality requirements
Standardizing plant operations across multiple facilities with the goal of minimizing process yield loss and providing exceptional quality products and services
Developing and maintaining manufacturing specifications with each plant running MDO production
Leading efforts to identify potential step changes to improve overall operations
Training and developing employees to assure operational flexibility and responsiveness, and increasing technical knowledge
Supporting the product development group with product improvement projects, including managing the commercial trial process
Identifying, prioritizing, coordinating, and monitoring process improvements for the plant with waste reduction, throughput improvement, and quality enhancement
Taking lead for documenting process improvements and new operating directives for multiple sites running MDO process in the division
Maintaining safety, quality, and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and resolution of process difficulties
Ensuring that all improvement projects meet Amcor/OSHA safety requirements including careful attention to management of change process
Working closely with division quality group to ensure that all quality policies and procedures are followed
Be a liaison between R&D and operations to ensure all parties are aligned and working towards the same objectives
Develops and scales up to commercialization of new MDO film products and provides core maintenance on these products by staying abreast of new technology
Also responsible for taking the commercial product technology to the “next generation” through process optimization and collaboration with the R&D development engineers
Could be expected to travel between 10-30% of time.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or other related technical field preferred
Experience in blown film extrusion within a manufacturing environment required
Related experience in a continuous operation, blown film manufacturing
Proficient in problem solving and troubleshooting
Experience in Microsoft Office applications
JDE experience is a plus
Excellent communication skills (computer, verbal, written, presentation) both internally and externally
Ability to work and lead as a team
Strong organizational, analytical, and mechanical skills
Demonstrated passion for safety and results
Must be innovative and adaptable
Knowledge of safety compliance, standards, regulations, and practices
Must be self-motivated, self-directed, and results oriented.
