The Data Scientist will ensure continuous improvement of the program’s data quality through solutions and strategies to address business challenges.
This role involves working closely with data operations and reporting teams to design, develop, and execute automated data reporting solutions with the highest standards of quality and performance.
This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a SAFe Agile environment.
The Data Scientist will play a critical role in improving the quality and accessibility of data solutions to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in detecting and preventing fraud, waste, and abuse within government-sponsored health programs.
Collaborate with product owners, customers, team members, and leaders to shape data-driven strategies.
Develop solutions and strategies to address business challenges.
Research and devise innovative statistical models for data analysis.
Automate repetitive reports and deliveries.
Apply statistical methods, machine learning, and artificial intelligence tools to detect anomalies and trends to make informed decisions.
Run data pilot analysis, comparative performance analysis.
Streamline performance and data quality analysis on various data sources.
Develop and deploy machine learning models into production environment by collaborating with other engineers and developers.
Monitoring model performance, refine/update models algorithms as needed.
Collaborate with internal teams and developers to design, develop, automate and maintain data analytics reports and dashboards.
Provide support in ad-hoc analysis to meet customer needs.
Present insights and findings to business owners, customers, and leadership.
Able to effectively transfer knowledge and train team members in the processes.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to provide input on testing progress and challenges.
Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and techniques to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing efforts.
Requirements
5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or similar role.
Experience with data analytics tools (SQL, R, Python) and data visualization tools (like Tableau, PowerBI, AWS Quicksight).
Experience designing, training, validating, and deploying machine learning models and algorithms.
Experience with cloud computing tools such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Experience with version control systems (GitHub).
Knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and data modeling.
Experience with agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum) and tools (Jira, Confluence).
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment and deadline-driven environment.
Proven track record of innovation and continuous improvement.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years.
