Under general supervision, assume responsibility for projects of significant importance, scope and complexity or assist on more complex projects.
With assistance, solve problems through application of knowledge, experience and original thinking.
Provide technical input to current projects and assist in scoping new projects.
Review results with others and suggest the advisability of further tests and/or changes deemed necessary.
Under light supervision, provide analytical services in support of Cocoa Science initiatives for all cocoa commodity related products.
Monitor ingredient, in-process or finished product quality through analytical testing.
Perform simple to moderately complex wet chemistry techniques (sample preparation, extraction and analysis).
Perform moderately complex chemical analyses using analytical equipment including GC, GC/MS and HPLC instrumentation.
Operate, maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation.
Prepare standards and controls. Record, compute and evaluate data as well as input data into LIMS.

B.S. Degree in Chemistry (preferred) or related science field
Minimum of 2-5 years of related experience
Superior working knowledge and comfort in analytical test methods and Good Laboratory Practices
Demonstrated experience using analytical instrumentation including chromatography systems (GC, GC/MS and HPLC)
Attention to detail, especially with respect to laboratory techniques
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, organize, track and plan.
Superior communication skills in verbal and written form.
Proficiency in computer programs / software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point and LIMS
