Perform design studies and engineering activities that defines the scope and installation of renewable energy solutions for customer projects.
Direct and review technical studies performed by other departments and outside services.
Perform equipment design and rating calculations for renewable energy solutions, including development of one-line diagrams, system capacity and performance calculations.
Review customer specifications and guide customer with identification and selection of appropriate renewable energy solutions.
Plan and define site commissioning tests, assist with startup activities, and provide product support at project sites as needed.
Develop equipment and system design specifications using customer input to ensure the designs meet all performance and customer requirements while incorporating high MEPPI content.
Coordinate and communicate local design with supplier engineers.
Coordinate implementation of equipment factory test and site work with supplier field engineers to assure successful startup.
Guide field engineers and service personnel with start-up, troubleshooting and repair.
Monitor factory and field test plans to ensure adequate techniques and uniform, cost effective practices.
Review and interpret factory test results.
Establish and maintain SSD design standards solving mechanical, electrical and structural challenges.
Assist sales engineers to prepare and submit technical and commercial budgetary and firm proposals for products/services in response to customers interest, need and RFQs.
Propose and evaluate cost reduction initiatives.
Collaborate with project management to define development schedules and project construction requirements.
Interface with internal and external resources to ensure optimal integration of the Battery and subsystems into the overall product packaging.
Further the goals and positive professional image of the Division by executing all job functions using qualified and high-performance products and services.
Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related degree with 3-5 years of experience in energy storage batteries and related equipment, or equivalent education and experience.
Advanced knowledge of energy storage technology and emerging uses.
Advanced knowledge of electric utility substation product lines.
Advanced interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with ability to maintain relationships with diverse customer and supplier groups.
Ability to work in a team environment and on several projects simultaneously.
Ability to read, understand and create technical drawings and related materials.
Advanced computer skills, emphasizing knowledge of MS Office products.
