ECCO Select is a company committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce. They are seeking a Systems Engineer focusing on Sunrise applications to support and optimize the Sunrise Clinical Manager and related healthcare IT systems.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, monitor, and support the Sunrise EHR infrastructure, including application servers, databases, and associated technologies to ensure system availability and performance
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain software and hardware for Sunrise applications as needed
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, system, operating system, and integration issues; perform capacity planning and systems health checks to ensure reliable operation
- Collaborate with operations teams to deliver timely updates, patches, and antivirus updates, ensuring full compliance with organizational change management processes and security standards
- Support HL7 interfaces, interoperability initiatives, and integration with third-party systems and platforms, working closely with clinical and technical teams
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of issues, resolutions, configurations, and processes to promote knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and future supportability
- Contribute to ongoing systems automation, scripting, and optimization efforts (i.e., resource utilization, monitoring, performance tuning), leveraging industry best practices and tools
- Act as a primary technical resource in project meetings; partner with internal clinical, infrastructure, and leadership stakeholders to drive successful project and operational outcomes
- Assist in planning migration strategies and readiness assessments as the organization evaluates transition to next-generation EHR solutions
- Provide on-call or off-hours support as part of a shared rotation, ensuring system availability and issue resolution during critical operational windows
- Cultivate strong working relationships with both technical and clinical staff, communicating and collaborating effectively across disciplines and workstreams
- Uphold high standards for system accuracy, performance, and compliance with healthcare IT regulations (HIPAA, HITECH, etc.)
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on healthcare IT systems engineering experience, including significant responsibility for Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM) and related environments
- Expertise in EHR operating environments, with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and modernize complex systems
- Strong technical skills with Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Citrix, and common virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
- Solid understanding of healthcare IT compliance, security, and interoperability standards (HIPAA, HITECH, etc.)
- Relevant experience supporting HL7 interfaces, interoperability, and third-party healthcare integrations
- Excellent communication skills, with ability to bridge gaps between technical, clinical, and leadership groups
- Demonstrated track record of managing priorities, delivering on commitments, and driving systems engineering projects to successful completion
- Proven commitment to ownership, accountability, and client satisfaction in resolving systems or infrastructure issues
- Flexibility to provide after-hours, on-call support as needed
- Experience supporting or planning transition from Sunrise to leading EHRs such as Epic, Cerner, or other modern platforms
- Familiarity with cloud-hosted application environments (Azure, AWS, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (substantial relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
- Relevant technical certifications, such as ITIL, MCSE, GIAC, or Cisco certifications
