Serve as a trusted advisor to CRE leadership
Support and advise CRE on structuring, documentation and servicing commercial real estate financing transactions
Establish and maintain forms and procedures governing external counsel support of CRE
Advise CRE specialty lending verticals
Advise Operations colleagues on issues arising in customer onboarding, document preparation, loan closing, and loan servicing for CRE customers
Partner with Risk, Credit, Operations, Technology and Compliance colleagues regarding operational and regulatory risk and control issues
Advise the business with respect to new products and services and related legal and regulatory matters
Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholder groups
Work in partnership with other members of the Commercial Legal Team to establish best practices across all Huntington Commercial Bank businesses

Bachelor’s Degree and JD required
Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state/jurisdiction
A minimum of 10 years of law firm or in-house legal department experience advising financial institutions
Substantial experience advising commercial real estate financing transactions and related legal issues
Proficient in handling a large number of issues and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to interact effectively and professionally at all levels.
