About this role
Role Overview
Reconcile employee benefit accounts and coordinate with HR/Total Rewards teams to resolve discrepancies.
Reconcile benefit vendor invoices to payroll deductions and coordinate resolution of discrepancies with HR/Total Rewards.
Reconcile payroll, benefit, payroll tax, and related general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of variances.
Document payroll adjustments for accounting journal entries.
Support payroll tax reconciliations, including quarter-end and year-end filings (W-2, T4, T2200, etc. if applicable.
Support month-end and year-end close through reporting, analysis, and timely delivery of required schedules.
Prepare payroll and benefits accounting reports for Finance and Corporate Accounting teams.
Maintain documentation to ensure SOX/internal control compliance.
Run and analyze ad hoc payroll and accounting reports as needed.
Collaborate with Payroll, HR and Finance teams to ensure data integrity and compliance with company policies and GAAP.
Other duties as assigned by Sr Manager Payroll Tax.
Requirements
3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including payroll accounting and related functions.
Proficiency in journal entry preparation and month-end close activities.
Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and payroll accounting processes.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Experience with ERP or payroll systems (e.g., UKG, ADP, Oracle,) preferred.
Familiarity with benefit accounting and payroll tax concepts.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
