Role Overview
- Responsible for executing portions of the electrical designs of transformers
- Review and create designs as well as maintain them
- Evaluate products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability
- Follow standard guidelines; select from the most appropriate of several guidelines
- Review electrical design characteristics and consult with more senior engineer on design criteria or complex design issues
- Participate in portions of product electrical design work
- Remain current with industry and technical developments and maintain a high level of expertise in designated areas of specialization
- Maintain designated design, manufacturing and process-related documentation
- Consult with marketing, customers and design engineering staff to understand and develop innovative solutions to meet customer needs
- Consult with manufacturing process leaders to develop and optimize design solutions at the optimum total cost
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Prior experience in an engineering internship preferred
- Good process and problem-solving skills
- A team player with strong people skills; ability to build relationships
- Effective communication skills, including verbal (logical and organized), written, listening and presentation
- Computer skills: highly proficient in Microsoft applications: Power Point, Excel and Word
- Analytical capacity for creative problem-solving, process design and product application, design and development
- Data collection and analysis skills
- Understanding of and skill in use of specific design methods, rationales and tools (e.g. FEA, DFM, robust design)
