Prepare weekly statement/invoice files, review exceptions, and verify invoices and adjustments in accordance with company policy and contract terms.
Load and reconcile daily cash receipts from various sources, including Lockbox, Credit Card programs, etc. and ensure accurate application to customer accounts.
Monitor accounts receivable aging and proactively follow up with customers to resolve outstanding balances.
Oversee the process to refund patient accounts, as appropriate, and assist with filing Unclaimed Funds reports with the states.
Support cash flow forecasting through timely and accurate AR reporting.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including analysis and reporting of AR balances and related reserves.
Assist with annual out of pocket expense statement preparation for patient accounts.
Research and resolve customer billing discrepancies and payment variances in coordination with sales, customer service, and operations teams.
Maintain accurate and organized documentation for audits and internal controls and assist with gathering audit requests, as necessary.
Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance AR efficiency.
Assist with establishing and reporting on key metrics and operating efficiencies to assess the ROI.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.
2–4 years of accounting experience with a focus on accounts receivable or billing.
Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or service-based environments preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and AR processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis).
