Physical Security System Design Engineer

Role Overview

• Develop customized technical solutions to meet client and project requirements
• Serve as an internal physical security technology subject matter expert supporting project managers and systems designers
• Contribute to the development of ZBeta engineering and technical consulting tools and processes
• Create, edit, review, and proof ZBeta design and engineering drawings package components: plans, details, diagrams, schedules, estimates, and programming matrices
• Conduct technical studies, such as cable distance and voltage drop calculations
• Conduct product research and engage in continuing technical education in physical security systems software, equipment, and related infrastructure technologies
• Troubleshoot client and project issues related to codes, standards, and regulations applicable to physical security systems
• Confirm proper function, operation, performance, and compliance vs applicable standards, requirements, and design documentation

Requirements

• 5+ years of security system design and/or security technology experience is required
• 2+ years Revit &/or AutoCAD experience is preferred
• Proficiency in Lenel security system hardware and programming required
• Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software
• Proficiency in Bluebeam and Navisworks
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design software such as Revit & AutoCAD is preferred
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to organize and present design information to clients
