Support the planning, design, and review of traffic control devices, roadway layouts, and operational improvements.
Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and contractors to help deliver safe, efficient, and innovative transportation solutions for our community.
Using RapidPlan to draft 2D based traffic plans, signage and pavement marking layouts, and intersection designs for urban and rural roadways.
Work with the Estimating Team for tenders, job planning and quoting.
Coordinate with project teams, construction groups, and external stakeholders.
Ensure designs adhere to applicable standards, guidelines, and best practices.
Requirements
Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology, Transportation Engineering, or a related field is an asset.
Experience in traffic design, roadway operations, or construction planning is an asset.
Strong understanding of applicable guidelines (TAC, MUTCD, etc.).
Proficiency with relevant design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, RapidPlan).
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Knowledge of emerging traffic design practices from other jurisdictions would be considered an asset.
Knowledge of construction practices would also be considered an asset.
Experience reviewing or coordinating traffic accommodations during construction.
