Provide day-to-day legal counsel and proactive advice on employment laws and regulations, including anti-discrimination/harassment, pay practices, leave and accommodation, and reductions in force
Support labor relations strategies, including collective bargaining obligations, contract interpretation, unfair labor practice defense, and arbitration resolution
Develop and deliver preventative law training and practical guidance that drives compliance and manager confidence
Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements and create clear, scalable policies/procedures
Represent the company—or manage outside counsel—in employment litigation, mediations, arbitrations, and agency proceedings
Advise on or conduct internal investigations with rigor, discretion, and sound judgment
Serve as the subject matter expert for investigations, threat response calls, wage and hour updates, Talent Acquisition-related matters
Requirements
Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school
Minimum 5 years of licensed practice advising management on U.S. labor and employment law (in-house or management side law firm)
Traditional labor law experience (e.g., collective bargaining, NLRA, grievance/arbitration)
Member in good standing of a relevant state bar
Must have a history of ethical practice, with no current or past disciplinary actions or formal reprimands from any state bar association or licensing authority
