Role Overview
- independently design material handling equipment such as conveyors, bulk feed systems, sortation solutions, and fulfillment machinery
- manage moderate-complexity tasks within assigned project scopes and ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and safety codes
- interpret and refine concept-level product requirements into detailed mechanical designs
- develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation packages including detailed drawings and engineering change documentation
- investigate and resolve product design issues through root-cause analysis
- lead or facilitate peer design reviews to ensure technical, cost, and quality objectives are met
- provide technical guidance and informal mentorship to junior engineers
Requirements
- bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- minimum of four (4) years of applicable experience
- advanced-level experience in 3D CAD tools such as NX, AutoCAD, Inventor, Pro-E, Solid Works
- travel up to 10%
- experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools such as Teamcenter is preferred
- demonstrated proficiency in mechanical product design with hands-on experience developing material handling equipment
- strong working knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems
- strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- hands-on experience with prototyping, lab testing, and equipment validation
- strong collaboration and communication skills
