About this role
Role Overview
Install, operates, and maintains environmental and emission monitoring instruments and testing equipment; analyzes data for compliance with regulatory requirements
Evaluate and assesses environmental risk and develops programs for risk reduction
Collaborate in recommending appropriate action to management in compliance with regulations
Review and/or prepares and maintains detailed records and files of environmental data and communications
Evaluate and administers contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment
Maintain basic working knowledge of national, regional and local environmental, occupational health, and other applicable regulations
Maintain knowledge of site environmental policies and procedures
May provide leadership to less experienced Engineers and Technicians
May serve as Project Manager or technical expert on small to medium-sized environmental projects
Lead or participate in regular audits and inspections of operations areas for purposes of ensuring compliance with site environmental policies, procedures and requirements of the Environmental Management System
Coordinate the timely recycling and disposition of materials and other company assets in compliance with applicable legal and other requirements
Track and reports the recycling and disposition of materials and other company assets as directed
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Earth Science or related natural science or Mathematics/Computer Science including Accounting and Finance, or Business Management or other Bachelor’s degree
3+ years environmental or related experience, OR Master’s degree in a related field and at least one (1) year environmental or related experience
Additional certification or licensure appropriate to the job may be required or preferred
Working knowledge of Clean Air Act (CAA) requirements and Arizona air quality regulations
Experience with Arizona Air Permits (Class II and/or Title V exposure)
Familiarity with ADEQ permitting processes
Knowledge of fugitive dust control plans, opacity limits, and visible emissions requirements
Experience with ambient air monitoring and/or source monitoring
Familiarity with opacity monitoring, Method 9 observations, and visible emissions tracking
Understanding of stack testing coordination, contractor oversight, and results review
Ability to evaluate meteorological data (wind speed/direction) as it relates to dust and emissions
