About this role
Role Overview
Lead underwriting efficiency initiatives that introduce automation to reduce cycle time and increase throughput, partnering with process and automation teams on time-motion studies and measurable operational improvements.
Contribute to defining a “north-star” operating model for underwriting and shaping future-state workflows, metrics, and governance.
Deliver claims–underwriting connectivity insights to deepen understanding of profitable business, inform appetite and selection, and drive improvements in portfolio quality and loss ratio.
Build and launch tools that surface cross-sell opportunities for underwriters and enable smart re-use of broker-supplied data, including practical data products that embed insights into daily workflows.
Synthesize complex analysis into compelling narratives and executive-ready presentations; lead recurring readouts that convert insights into clear recommendations, decisions, and accountable actions.
Drive adoption and change management for new tools and processes — partnering with underwriting, claims, and distribution leaders to embed solutions, track outcomes, and iterate for impact.
Collaborate across the North America Data Office to navigate the data ecosystem, and ensure the solutions you build are robust, observable, and designed for reuse.
Independently manage projects end-to-end: scoping problems, prioritizing work, aligning stakeholders, tracking milestones, and delivering on time with clear value realization measures.
Develop analytic tools that help others do their jobs more effectively and guide decision-making — going beyond dashboards to implement tangible changes that drive efficiency and growth.
Confidently lead discussions with senior leadership at the department or functional level, using storytelling and well-structured analysis to earn buy-in and move the business.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or other quantitative fields preferred.
Four to five years of experience or equivalent capability required.
Advanced knowledge of data sources, tools, statistical principles and methodologies, and techniques.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, Power BI, and statistical software packages (SAS, Emblem). Python experience is a plus.
Must exhibit robust planning, analytical, decision-making and communication skills.
Possess a depth of understanding of business nuances to improve business outcomes.
