Take pride in developing high-quality civil and structural designs for new constructions, renewals, maintenance, and assessments
Collaborate with both national and international design teams, utilizing your experience to create positive, sustainable impacts on society and the environment
Use analytical skills to derive potential solutions to engineering problems and engineering judgement to appraise different options and recommend the most suitable option
Undertake technical work independently, including the production of high-quality design documentation including sketches, drawings, 3D BIM deliverables, analysis models, calculations, reports and specifications
Provide guidance and support for more junior members of staff
Support on bids, tenders and winning work.
Requirements
A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline
Near Chartered/Chartered status and membership of the ICE or IStructE
Experience of working on projects with key clients such as Transport Scotland and National Highways
Good understanding of relevant design standards (e.g. Eurocodes, DMRB, MCHW and Network Rail standards)
Practical knowledge and experience of bridge design, maintenance and assessment
Experience of structural analysis software packages such as LUSAS, MIDAS and Autodesk Structural Bridge Design
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to converse with a wide range of clients, stakeholders and colleagues across a number of engineering disciplines.
