Accountable for quality control/quality assurance (QC/QA) activities ensuring Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) and cement aggregate mixtures are acceptable for use on state/local highway projects.
Surveys, calibrates, and approves bituminous hot-mix plants and concrete plants.
Trains, motivates, and evaluates subordinate staff.
Assigns the appropriate mixture to the project and modifies mix designs as necessary.
Requirements
Completion of two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering or job related technical/science curriculum
Six years of engineering experience; OR Eight years of engineering experience.
Experience in communicating with outside entities.
Good time management skills.
Ability to pass the prescribed QC/QA HMA Level I, Level II, and Level III training courses and PCC Level I, Level II, and Level III training courses within 24 months of the start date.
Valid driver’s license.
Successful completion of a background screening.
