Collect, maintain, and analyze data in order to assist in establishing standard cost for process labor and material.
Analyze and summarize information and trends in order to establish and explain the differences when setting standards and preparing financial information.
Evaluate the process rates and material cost information.
Recommend systems changes to cost accounting system.
Assist in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for the Cost Accounting Department.
Also assist in the establishment, maintenance and monitoring of annual material and process cost standards and budgets.
Coordinate the preparation and analyses of reports to track cost variances, inventory adjustments and other cost items such as scrap, shortage, and obsolete inventory.
Complete budget to actual manufacturing expense analysis and prepare reports for monthly manufacturing review.
Complete general ledger and intercompany reconciliations.
Know the accounts receivable and accounts payable systems thoroughly in order to perform costing duties and provide departmental back-up support.
Prepare and analyze various inventory and cost of sales reports for Company management and auditors. Examples include information concerning price, scrap, audit adjustments, shortages, and manufacturing expenses.
Requirements
Less than 2 years related experience
Associate degree (Accounting)
Non-degree considered if 6+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED
Occasional travel (0-5%)
Occasional overnight stays (0-5%)
Job requires employee to drive a personal vehicle to conduct company business < 20% per week (8 hours) and/or travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday.
Per 8-hour shift. Sit for 6 hours. Stand for 2 hours.
