Guide finance leads/business managers through analysis and budget preparation
Track performance against plans and provide variance analysis
Collaborate with senior academic and administrative leaders on budget development and presentation materials
Compile, analyze, and prepare summary reports for Provost leadership
Track and report on endowment and university funds supporting Provost priorities
Distribute central funding and perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations
Support year-end close, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and balanced current funds
Prepare and distribute financial reports across the management center
Provide expert guidance on Duke accounting structures, fund flows, and reporting practices
Train finance/business managers on reporting development and Duke systems
Complete workflow approvals for journal entries, vouchers, and travel expenditures
Assist with oversight of centralized Provost funding allocations for strategic initiatives

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
At least six years of experience in financial management, including financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and financial modeling
Knowledge of Duke systems and policies (preferred)
Experience in staff supervision and performance management (preferred)
Proven ability to solve complex financial and operational issues (preferred)
CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
