Administer and support daily operational requirements of computer network systems, including workstations, file servers, and web servers.
Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and network components.
Perform system upgrades to C4I TVE systems as needed.
Manage user/network accounts, permissions, and Active Directory.
Implement security controls (e.g., STIGs, patches), conduct vulnerability scans, and maintain data integrity.
Design, interface, and update web pages; create and maintain local system design documentation.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and implement network security tools, including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection services.
Train staff on software relevant to their positions.
Assist customers with information technology needs.
Monitor system performance, perform backups, and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
Provide instruction on computers and applications.
Analyze, design, and deliver modernizations and enhancements to the TVE as requested by the Government and in accordance with Department of Navy policies and directives.
Maintain the regular system backups and restore the system to pre-failure state or restoring data from backup media.
Work in a software development life cycle, apply security and vulnerability best practices, and require little or no instruction and guidance in performing routine tasks and updating change management systems to document system changes.
Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation.
Provide recommendations, as needed, regarding hardware and system software planning.
Manage the lifecycle of IT equipment, including procurement and disposal.
Requirements
Bachelor’s level degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems (or relevant experience)
T5/R (or equivalent) investigation to attain TS eligibility
Three (3) years professional experience in systems administration
Information Assurance Technical level II (IAT II) certification: CCNA Security; CySA+; GICSP; GSEC; Security+ CE; CND; or SSCP
Work under general technical direction, install, configure, and maintain operating systems, servers, and resources either in the government owned cloud, or servers
Ability to learn or already know the latest NIST controls, information assurance frameworks, and address them in practice, following the government's risk management plan, and CoOP
Effective technical, communication skills and experience to recommend design solutions and improvements that enhance the system cost, schedule, and performance
