Software Engineer, Backend Engineer

Rescale is pioneering the future of engineering and scientific discovery. They are seeking a systems-oriented Software Engineer, Backend Engineer to join their team, responsible for delivering core functionality and maintaining high-quality automation for their platform.

Responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end delivery of essential, core functionality for Rescale customers as well as rapidly iterating on new product ideas
• Work with your teammates to build and maintain high quality automation for building and testing our main customer-facing platform
• Develop and maintain critical areas of the product including identity management, elastic cloud workstations, and workflow automation

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience building and operating performant, non-trivial backend systems in production
• Expertise or strong interest in the following areas: web performance optimization (including ORM and DB profiling), deploying and scaling web applications using cloud services, application security
• High enthusiasm for supporting both rapid proof-of-concept prototypes as well as robust, mission critical components for both internal and external stakeholders
• Comfortable with ambiguity, strong user-first mindset, and ability to come up with non-regrettable technical solutions
• Flexibility and dedication to work in a team and ship exceptional software
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
