Senior Coder

Role Overview

• Under general supervision appropriately assigns DRGs, APCs, ICD-10 and CPT to all patient account types according to AHA and UHDDS guidelines
• This is a credentialed coder/abstractor position responsible for coding levels up to and including Inpatient – All types of cases, Outpatient Clinical, Emergency Room, Same Day Surgery, and Observation

Requirements

• National Certification from American Academy of Professional Coders upon hire or
• National Certified Coding Associate
• American Health Information Management Association upon hire or
• National Certified Coding Specialist
• American Health Information Management Association upon hire or
• National Registered Health Information Administrator
• American Health Information Management Association upon hire or
• National Registered Health Information Technician
• American Health Information Management Association upon hire
• 1 year
• CPT and ICD-10-CM acute care hospital coding experience
