About this role
Role Overview
Conduct research on industries, companies, and executives to identify high-potential business development (BD) opportunities.
Develop foundational business acumen, staying current on market trends and applying insights to guide BD strategy.
Identify and pursue opportunities with current, former, and prospective clients, collaborating across practices to expand reach.
Support pre-sales activities (e.g., target identification, pitch content, deck preparation, and meeting follow-up), ensuring timely data entry and updates in JM Search databases.
Track and report on BD performance, analyzing trends and outcomes to refine outreach strategies.
Develop, update, and maintain pitch decks, smart packs, and other client-facing materials, ensuring brand alignment and relevance.
Perform targeted market mapping and competitive intelligence to uncover new growth avenues.
Collaborate with Practice Leaders and Partners to create and promote industry-focused content (articles, interviews, blog posts).
Requirements
Entry level-role; 0 – 2 years of experience in a recruiting, executive search and/or professional services environment.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred; competitive intelligence/knowledge management advanced studies a plus.
Effective writing and editing skills coupled with outstanding attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple research projects at once.
Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Must have proficiency in Internet research, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
