Act as the primary liaison between product management and engineering, ensuring clear communication and alignment on product requirements
Provide operational and tactical guidance to the engineering team, supporting them in product design to meet Product Requirements Document (PRD) specifications
Lead and drive Problem Solving Reports (PSRs) for engineering challenges encountered during design activities, ensuring effective resolution
Guide the team in adopting best design practices, promoting efficiency and quality
Identify potential intellectual property (IP) and patents, safeguarding the company's innovation
Ensure principal engineers and the Chief Title Holder Engineers are fully engaged with the design team, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing
Translate product requirements into cutting-edge technical solutions, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in power conversion technology
Guide technical planning and implementation, ensuring seamless integration of subsystems, rigorous testing, and effective risk/cost management
Foster collaboration across engineering disciplines and with external partners, resolving challenges and driving consensus
Oversee first article testing, troubleshoot issues, and share lessons learned to continuously improve our products and processes
Ensure adherence to development processes and quality standards, championing a culture of continuous improvement
Lead the creation and maintenance of state-of-the-art product documentation that showcases our technical leadership
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in relevant technical/product roles, with at least 3 years focused on inverter-based systems
Minimum 5 years of experience with power semiconductor devices, converter topologies, power electronics principles, and control systems for grid-connected inverters
Minimum 3 years of experience with EMC/EMI principles and mitigation techniques for power electronics systems
Advanced Education: Master’s degree or PhD with a focus on Power Electronics or Control Systems (desired)
Proficiency with simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD, or PSpice for transient and steady-state analysis (desired)
Deep expertise in Grid-Forming (GFM) inverter technologies and advanced grid-support functions (e.g., black start, synthetic inertia) (desired)
Proven track record of leading products through full certification cycles (UL 1741 SB, IEEE 1547-2018) and participating in industry standard-setting bodies or working groups (desired)
Experience applying Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies to hardware development cycles to improve quality and reduce "time to market" (desired)
Demonstrated ability to influence product roadmaps and translate complex customer/grid requirements into actionable engineering specifications (desired)
Experience leading cross-functional teams across different time zones, specifically managing the hand-off between R&D and manufacturing (desired)
