Exercise independent judgment and discretion in performing substantive legal work as a licensed attorney.

Supervise or manage other attorneys and paralegals within the department.
Maintain expertise in assigned subject matter areas and advise on legal developments.
Ensure timely responses to requests for legal advice.
Identify and seek to implement measures to improve legal services within the organization.
Cooperate effectively and take leadership roles as requested on projects and teams.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) from ABA accredited law school
Five or more years of experience as a practicing attorney, including at least two years specifically in the area of practice
Strong understanding of the operation of a regulated industry
Member in good standing of the state bar or ability to become a member of the state bar within a reasonable period of time
Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion to perform legal services
Experience with Florida medical malpractice defense, coordination of benefits, pharmacy benefits, subrogation, patient and payer disputes and Medicare/ALJ proceedings
