Prepare system-to-ledger reconciliations for policy-level accounting activity in accordance with established procedures.
Research and resolve reconciliation discrepancies using existing methods and tools and escalating complex and non-routine issues as appropriate.
Collaborate with team members and upstream partners to support issue resolution and meet service level expectations.
Prepare and post correcting journal entries under guidance to resolve identified variances.
Process daily cash-related entries associated with policyholder transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
Support adherence to reconciliation policies and internal controls, ensuring documentation is complete and audit-ready.
Assist in tracking and reporting key metrics, including reconciliation timeliness, accuracy, and exception volumes.
Participate in testing and validation activities for reconciliation tools, accounting systems, or workflow enhancements.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and provide input on efficiency or quality enhancements.
Requirements
5+ years of relevant accounting or financial operations experience.
4-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Solid understanding of financial statement risks and internal controls.
Knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, concepts, and practices.
Strong technical, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Takes a new perspective using existing solutions.
Works independently, receives minimal guidance.
Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel or similar tools.
