Evaluate and make underwriting decisions on life and critical illness insurance applications with approval limits up to $10 million.
Manage a high volume of applications, with an expectation to process and make decisions on approximately 20-30 applications per day.
Ensure prompt and efficient service by maintaining a cycle time that supports timely decisions and exceptional customer service.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and coaching to junior underwriting staff to enhance their skills and performance.
Conduct thorough reviews of underwriting decisions to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Work collaboratively with other departments, including claims, legal, and customer service, to ensure a seamless customer experience.

A minimum of 7 years of experience in life and critical illness underwriting, with a proven track record of handling high-value cases.
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field.
Professional underwriting certifications are highly desirable.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication abilities.
Proficiency in underwriting software and tools.
Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach junior staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Bilingual (French & English) is an asset.
