Oversee daily shift operations, ensuring effective use of staff, equipment, space, and supplies.
Prepare schedules, monitor productivity, and meet established turnaround times.
Review daily work to identify and correct errors; maintain workload and QC logs.
Assess clinical and operational needs and apply appropriate leadership to keep operations efficient.
Serve as the primary contact for nursing and other hospital departments.
Act as a resource for staff decision-making and problem-solving.
Perform phlebotomy or bench-related duties as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience
Science or healthcare related field
Greater than 2 years of experience in the designated specialty or area of responsibility
Prefer candidates who qualify under CLIA 88 as general supervisor
Preferred: Phlebotomy certification (approved certifying agency) and/or certification as Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or laboratory discipline specific or specialty certificate (ASCP or AMT or other approved certifying agency)
Prefer the candidate meets CLIA88 qualifications as general supervisor (high complexity testing).
