Oversee, manage, and drive best-in-class performance for a given US and/or Canadian Finished Vehicle assembly plant(s) relative to outbound logistics (finished vehicles).
Meet and exceed NAVL Origin Operations objectives by facilitating and influencing improvement in the following areas:
Lead day to day oversight of vehicle movement at US and/or Canada Origin Plants to ensure vehicles are shipping to plan.
Meet or achieve KPI targets by collaborating and partnering with carriers along with 3rd party logistics (3PL) providers to maintain on time performance targets for Finished Vehicles deliveries.
Establish effective communication with assigned plant(s) to resolve daily operational & logistical issues that affect deliveries and logistics performance.
Manage inventory and vehicle flow along with identifying other opportunities to heavily reduce premium freight spend to ensure budget is achieved.
Deliver on KPI target relative to vehicle aging and ensure inventory accuracy by establishing regular inventory reconciliation efforts.
Ensure appropriate KPI’s are being met relative to Carrier performance.
Oversee and manage performance of origin service provider(s) (OSP). Establish effective relationship with railroad partner(s) to deliver on necessary performance to achieve ETA and similar targets.
Identify and investigate operational issues impacting the handling of vehicles in the network; understand when to escalate to leadership.
Continue to refine critical KPI’s to understand if operations are performing to expected standard; monitor and leverage existing tracking metrics and tools to improve and monitor key KPI's.
Drive improvements in the Transportation Network to reduce Time In Transit with the use of data from Freight Verify and any other relevant data sources.
Lead the T-Force team (3PL) efforts, actions, and projects to reduce inventory dwell.
Support Plant New Vehicle launches including vehicle mobility. Quote, submit and manage PO request(s) to OSP for launches, quality concerns and other misc. items.
Support Customer request (Ford Pro, Lincoln, Ford Blue).
Support non-standard business hour position needs due to plant production schedules and other production related variabilities (before/after standard weekday work hours, weekends, holidays, etc.).
Requirements
Associate Degree, or equivalent related degree; or foreign equivalency degree, or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) experience( highly preferred)
Plant Operations Understanding (highly preferred)
Strong written and oral communication skills: you will be speaking or presenting to Senior Ford Leadership, regularly
Ability to positively influence change
Ability to handle complexity and multi-tasking
Ability to work with cross-functional groups to resolve concerns
Strong organizational skills required
Ability to make decisions and work independently
Proficiency in Excel (required), PowerPoint (required), , , Analytics/Data-mining mindset, , experience leveraging AI tools to enhance work productivity
Ford system QLS, AVS, understanding preferred.
