Role Overview
Edit and refine complex technical reports, proposals, and project documents to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to AECOM’s quality standards while providing high-quality, client-focused deliverables to the clients.
Apply expert-level Microsoft Word skills for advanced formatting, template management, and automation to produce polished, publication-ready documents.
Leverage Microsoft 365 tools (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Teams) to manage sophisticated document workflows, facilitate collaborative editing, and maintain rigorous version histories across multiple contributors.
Oversee comprehensive digital and physical filing systems, utilizing SharePoint and OneDrive for secure, organized document storage and efficient retrieval.
Coordinate with project managers, scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with document management protocols and regulatory requirements.
Support document archiving and retrieval processes in strict alignment with corporate policies, project specifications, and legal/regulatory mandates.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior technical editors, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in English, Information Science, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
6 years of relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Successful candidate will undergo a background check and be required to pass a drug/alcohol assessment
US citizen or Permanent Resident, Sponsorship will not be available for this role.
Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Teams), including advanced formatting and collaborative editing
Impeccable attention to detail, with a proven track record of producing high-quality, error-free technical documents
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts clearly
Experience in document and information management, including version control and secure archiving.
Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in a scientific or technical field is preferred.
Prior experience in technical editing or content development within environmental remediation or related scientific/engineering sectors
In-depth knowledge of document management best practices, including workflow automation and multi-user digital file access.
Proven leadership and delegation skills, with experience managing and mentoring technical editing teams.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in environmental documentation
Experience preparing client-facing deliverables for large-scale, multidisciplinary projects.
