Insurance Claims Specialist

Role Overview

• Responsible for managing patient account balances including accurate claim submission
• Compliance with all federal/state and third-party billing regulations
• Timely follow-up on claims and assistance with denial management
• Provide customer support and resolve issues from inquiries
• Complete reports and clerical duties as needed
• Collaborate with leadership and other team members to achieve revenue cycle operations objectives
• Organize and execute daily tasks for optimal productivity and efficiency
• Comply with Notices of Privacy Practices and HIPAA regulations
• Contact third party payers to resolve unpaid claims
• Utilize payer portals and websites to verify claim status
• Assist Patient Access and Care Management with denial investigations and resolutions
• Participate in educational programs for job and personal growth

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year medical billing/medical office experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding processes preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to use tact and diplomacy in dealing with others.
