Role Overview
- Perform advanced FOIA processing functions with minimal oversight
- Provide subject matter guidance to the FOIA team
- Conduct complex reviews and apply exemptions with expert-level accuracy
- Mentor junior and mid-level staff
- Support quality assurance efforts
- Ensure consistency and contribute to overall FOIA program effectiveness and compliance
- Identify potential risks or harm
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Minimum of three (3) years of FOIA request processing within the last 48 months
- Expert application of FOIA exemptions, DOJ guidance, and FOIA legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, train, and guide staff to correct processing discrepancies.
- Ability to perform thorough reviews and identify potential harm to ensure accurate and compliant releases.
- Comprehensive knowledge of DOJ reporting requirements and proper submission procedures.
- Bachelor's degree
