Role Overview
Fieldwork such as soil and groundwater sampling, stormwater inspections, remediation system operation and monitoring, drilling, and contractor oversight
Data input and analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; Assist with engineering calculations using computer-based technical tools
Technical writing of reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals
Follow instructions and interact with engineers, geologists, scientists (modelers, chemists, biologists), GIS and CADD professionals, office administrative staff, contractors and construction personnel
Local travel or driving to project sites as needed
Requirements
Currently registered in a Bachelor’s or Master’s university degree program in a relevant discipline
Degree focus area in environmental, civil, geotechnical, chemical, or water resources engineering preferred
Highly qualified candidates in geology, natural sciences, or chemistry programs will be considered
Experience with Microsoft Excel (required)
Python, hydrological models (e.g., MODFLOW), GIS (e.g., ArcView), CADD (e.g., AutoCAD), and/or other software relevant to the field (preferred)
Previous experience (academic or work-related) performing outdoor fieldwork (e.g., collecting samples and measurements, surveying, and/or light physical labor) in Arizona or similar climates (preferred)
Outstanding academic credentials and exceptional interpersonal, technical writing, oral and written communication and problem-solving skills (required)
Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel to project sites (required)
