Take responsibility for the end-to-end customer experience.
This includes selecting appropriate products based on customer needs, accurately entering and managing orders, preparing products safely and precisely, and, when applicable, securely loading the customer’s vehicle.
Consistently perform branch sales-focused activities to capitalize on sales opportunities and encourage customer retention to achieve revenue targets.
Promote the company’s products and services to customers and provide alternative solutions when required.
Maintain broad and thorough knowledge of the products and tools offered, including completing required training programs.
Process customer transactions.
Provide customers with up-to-date information on deliveries, lead times, quotes, and related inquiries.
Manage and perform tasks related to vending machine restocking and vendor-managed inventory (VMI).
Requirements
High school diploma.
1–3 years of experience in retail or customer service (e.g., counter service, retail floor, phone support, or warehouse).
Bilingualism (English and French) is required due to the nature of this role.
Some schedule flexibility is required to accommodate branch operations.
Ability to learn and safely operate powered industrial equipment such as a forklift.
Complete required initial and ongoing training within designated timeframes.
Motivated, energetic, and dedicated to customer service and sales growth.
Ability to collaborate effectively, with tact and diplomacy, with internal and external customers and cross-functional partners.
Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, solve problems independently, and understand Grainger’s core value proposition.
Ability to handle a variety of technical and operational issues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Background checks and drug screening may be required (depending on company or client requirements for on-site work and/or equipment operation).
