Serve as the primary strategy partner to the President, U.S., supporting critical business decisions and acting as a trusted advisor on enterprise and U.S.‑specific strategic priorities.
Play a central role in the planning and annual execution of Hershey’s 3‑year Enterprise Strategic Plan, with ownership of U.S. strategy integration across Confections, Salty Snacks, and Functional Snacking.
Lead U.S. strategy development, including portfolio choices, growth priorities, investment tradeoffs, and long‑range scenario planning.
Maintain a strong external mindset, synthesizing consumer, customer, competitive, and macroeconomic trends to inform strategic choices and challenge internal assumptions.
Independently scope, structure, and lead high‑impact strategy projects, including work planning, stakeholder engagement, and executive alignment.
Lead complex problem solving and address critical strategic issues facing the U.S. business as they arise.
Lead team to synthesize and analyze multiple internal and external data sources (POS, household panel, inventory, shipments, P&L statements, market trends, competitive insights) to develop clear, actionable business recommendations.
Develop executive‑level presentations for the President, U.S., CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors (e.g., enterprise updates, Board materials, external presentations).
Lead critical cross‑functional initiatives, partnering closely with Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and R&D leaders to ensure strategies are grounded in execution realities.
Directly lead and develop team members by setting clear expectations, coaching for performance, and building future enterprise leaders.
Own talent development outcomes for the team, including performance management, capability building, and succession planning.
Be recognized as an established leader and consultative partner among senior leaders across functions and geographies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or equivalent marketplace experience highly preferred.
12–15+ years of combined experience in a leading CPG company, top‑tier strategy consulting firm, or a combination of both.
Significant experience in corporate strategy, business unit strategy, or U.S. commercial leadership roles.
Demonstrated success influencing senior executives and leading strategy in complex, matrixed organizations.
Strong understanding of U.S. category dynamics, commercial strategy, and P&L management.
Experience leading large, cross‑functional initiatives across multiple businesses or portfolios.
Proven ability to operate at both a strategic altitude and a practical execution level.
People leadership experience and the ability to lead through influence across teams and functions.
