Supporting the NAS-R program as a Leidos System Engineer (SE)
Providing technical leadership and guidance for development of SE work products across the NAS-R program
Modernizing the air traffic control equipment by improving the exchange of electronic flight data and implementing electronic flight strips
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline with 12-15 years of professional experience OR Master’s degree with 10+ professional experience
Demonstrated leadership abilities along with strong systems engineering technical skills
Systems Engineering experience, including proven experience working in complex projects gathering user requirements and converting them into system requirements
Working knowledge with process modeling
Demonstrated understanding of full software development life cycle
Proven experience with: Supporting highly critical customer missions, streamlining the schedule sequence of departures to improve efficiency on the surface
Optimizing the experience for the flying public, Air Traffic Control, and the airline industry by improving the collaboration and decision-making capabilities between the gate and the tower
Serving as a prime SE technical interface for internal and external customers
Leading and facilitating requirement reviews and Working Group meetings with customer
Providing daily technical direction and guidance to the systems engineering team
Reviewing and ensuring the quality of systems engineering deliverables and work products across the team
Identifying risks, opportunities and dependencies and coordinating plans to resolve the risks and dependencies
Demonstrating understanding of engineering issues and the ability to develop cost effective solutions
Developing A-Level System/Subsystem Specification (SSS) requirements, B-Level Software Requirements Specification (SRS), Systems Engineering Modeling and Design, and Computer Human Interface design and mock-up development for the NAS-R system
Interfacing with the FAA customer to address/answer questions relating to the developed requirements, use cases describing human interactions and design decisions
Performing Systems Engineering as needed for the NAS-R system
Providing support needed for software development, integration and test, and other functional areas
Articulating user needs and requirements from high level user stories
Developing the design for the user interface framework including client and server-side components; analyzing and designing databases within an application
