Lead and develop a high-performing estimating organization that consistently delivers accurate, competitive, and profitable pricing strategies across hard bid, negotiated, unit price, lump sum, at-risk, and professional services pursuits
Direct the full pursuit lifecycle, including Go/No-Go analysis, kickoff meetings, document review, bid strategy, in-progress reviews, and final submissions for RFPs, RFQs, and RFBs
Oversee preparation of conceptual and detailed estimates, ensuring accurate takeoffs, sound pricing assumptions, and well-documented basis of estimate
Establish and implement cost risk management strategies, identify market trends, and drive continuous improvement to enhance margin performance and reduce cost exposure
Lead subcontractor and vendor solicitation, bid leveling, scope analysis, and buyout strategies; build and maintain strong industry partnerships and a performance-based partner database
Oversee procurement operations, including partner qualification, contract negotiation, and execution of subcontract and vendor agreements aligned with budget and schedule targets
Partner cross-functionally with executive leadership, business development, project management, and clients to secure alignment, validate pricing, and ensure successful project handoff
Build and manage a scalable estimating profit center that generates revenue through budgeting and preconstruction services
Lead project controls and PMIS strategy, driving implementation of tools and dashboards that provide real-time visibility into scope, schedule, cost, earned value, and profitability across multi-site programs
Institutionalize performance management processes, including KPI review cadence, post-project analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure sustained organizational profitability
Requirements
15+ years of experience leading preconstruction/estimating for quick-serve restaurants, retail, or commercial projects (tenant improvement and ground-up)
Experience in government or large-scale project estimates, highly preferred
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field
Strong understanding of commercial and/or government construction means and methods, cost structures, and market dynamics
Proficiency in ProEst, Procore, Bluebeam, OST, Togal .AI, and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Revit, Smartsheet, and related software a plus
Experience with federal and state government, DoD RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, and related solicitation documents
Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and personalities under pressure
Willingness to relocate or commute daily to our Plano, TX office
