The Project Accountant supports the full lifecycle financial management of energy savings performance (ESCO) projects, partnering with Project Managers and Regional teams to ensure accurate contract administration, job cost tracking, billing, and compliance.
This role prepares and administers owner and subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and change orders within Viewpoint Vista;
reviews and approves AIA billings, subcontractor pay applications, and accounts payable invoices;
processes client billings based on schedules of values;
maintains accounts receivable; and supports monthly WIP reporting through detailed cost projections and forecasting.
The Project Accountant also oversees subcontractor compliance documentation—ensuring adherence to contractual, state, and company requirements while maintaining organized project records and supporting project teams from kickoff through closeout and final cost reconciliation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or 5 + years' of project assistance, project coordination, administrative assistance or closely related experience in a Construction, HVAC or related field.
Knowledge of basic office procedures and processes.
Knowledge of the principles of file and records management.
Knowledge of the basic principles of bookkeeping and/or accounting.
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines, deliverables and other requirements.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with co-workers, vendors, customers, the general public and others having business with Veregy.
Ability to operate a personal computer utilizing a variety of standard office and/or specialized/customized software applications.
Valid driver’s license required.
Travel required: May be required to attend jobsite meetings, conduct jobsite tours and perform other jobsite functions.
