About this role
Role Overview
Represent state agencies in a variety of matters, including representing state agencies appointed to serve as guardians, conservators or personal representatives;
Represent the state as a creditor in estate proceedings, trust litigation and Medicaid estate recovery actions.
Work on cases involving claims arising from contracts, damage to state property, fraud, overpayments, injunctive relief, and real property disputes.
Requirements
Active membership in good standing with the Oregon State Bar by the time of appointment.
At least three years of experience working as an attorney.
Possess superior analytical, advocacy, research, verbal communication, and writing skills.
Strong work ethic.
Collaborative work history with lawyers and non-lawyers.
Experience communicating directly with clients and managing client relationships.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and an inclusive working environment where diverse individual experiences and perspectives are valued and supported.
Willingness and availability to travel throughout the state for court appearances, and other case-related work, including overnight stays away from home.
