Conduct and support energy efficiency (EE), demand response (DR), distributed energy resource (DER), and building and transportation electrification potential studies and forecasting efforts.
Lead and support development of data-driven modeling tools to address our customers' evolving needs in understanding the intersection of demand-side resources and system planning.
Conduct and support demand flexibility studies; benefit-cost analysis (BCA); utility program benchmarking; and market, policy, and regulatory research in response to new opportunities with a diverse set of stakeholders in the energy system.
Support project-based teams in the delivery of strategic research studies and analyses by serving as a technical lead.
Work within a team of analysts and consultants, contributing to strong performance, collaboration, and continuous learning and improvement.
Interpret the results of data analysis to produce concise, meaningful conclusions and recommendations for client-facing reports and professional papers.
Support the development, maintenance, and/or refinement of models and tools used for strategic planning, NWA screening, potential studies, DER adoption analysis, and forecasting work.
Operate with a teamwork mentality that leads to building and maintaining interpersonal relationships, providing technical guidance to researchers and consultants, and collaborating with project managers and team members to share knowledge and best practices.
Collaborate with DNV staff on other teams in North America and globally (Digitalization & Analytics, Design & Evaluation, Engineering & Technology, Power System Advisory, Storage and Grid Edge, and Renewables Advisory) to identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation and to develop creative approaches to solving customer problems.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum four (4) years of work experience in data analysis, engineering, or market research in the energy industry.
Experience in the analysis or forecasting of energy and demand savings and/or the grid services and impact opportunities of EE, DR, DER, electrification, and non-wire alternatives (NWAs).
Experience in a consulting or team-based research environment preferred, or experience working at or with electric utilities, regional grid operators, or other relevant organizations developing energy transition initiatives and analyses.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain high standards under deadlines; accustomed to multi-tasking and working under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment and across time zones.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for modeling/analysis and reporting/communication.
Demonstrated ability to convey technical results to diverse audiences.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and have a positive, team-oriented attitude and professional demeanor.
A collaborative mindset, curiosity about evolving grid and decarbonization trends, and a desire to innovate.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills; comfortable communicating with team members with different cultural backgrounds and experience.

Advanced Degree or emphasis in a relevant discipline (economics, engineering, statistics, environmental/energy policy, or related field) preferred.
Experience with programming languages, such as Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Python, MATLAB, or R preferred.
