Role Overview
- Conducts clinical coding audits according to operational guidelines
- Coordinate and oversee coder onboarding process for assigned clients
- Monitor and enforce compliance and quality programs
- Ensure adherence to State and National Practice Standards for coding
- Work directly with coding management team to ensure the educational needs of coders are met
- Conduct coding audits adhering to nationally recognized coding guidelines and standards
- Generate narrative audit summary reports as needed
Requirements
- RHIT, RHIA, CIC
- Minimum 3 years recent experience in auditing inpatient facility or outpatient facility claims
- Advanced knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 coding, and CMS billing policies for facility services
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with using multiple encoders and systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of APC-based reimbursement and medical necessity documentation requirements
