Serve as a valued and trusted member of the Atlas Legal Department.
Review, draft, and negotiate engineering, environmental, construction, and other commercial contracts and legal documents across public and private sectors.
Advise internal stakeholders on contract status, legal risks, and liabilities, acting as the day-to-day legal point of contact and coordinating with the Legal Department.
Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice focused on risk mitigation, legal compliance, and Company goals, including anticipating and proactively addressing legal issues.
Investigate, negotiate, and manage pre-litigation contractual claims and support litigation and dispute management.
Collaborate with and support Legal Department colleagues, contribute to process improvements, and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and admission to a State Bar.
8+ years of relevant experience, with 3-5 years of engineering/construction related industry experience preferred.
Both in-house and law firm experience preferred.
Experience drafting and negotiating engineering, environmental, and construction contracts.
Experience identifying and mitigating legal risks and advising on infrastructure and environmental project delivery.
Experience with alternative delivery projects (design-build, P3) and professional firm licensing (preferred).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Collaborative team player with strong client-service mentality and work ethic.
Ability to manage a fast-paced, high-stress workload independently while maintaining confidentiality.
