Perform geotechnical design, investigation, and analysis for buildings and infrastructure projects, including residential/commercial buildings, bridges, highways, railways, airports, pipelines, and levees/basins.
Direct and supervise subsurface explorations, laboratory testing, and geotechnical data interpretation to ensure a high-quality, timely, and within-budget delivery of the projects.
Perform geotechnical design and analysis for shallow and deep foundations, earthworks recommendations, slope stability and seepage analyses, lateral earth pressure calculations, and other pertinent analyses in support of a wide range of projects in public and private sectors.
Supervise and lead geotechnical support during construction of geotechnical elements, including shallow and deep foundations, grading, utility trenching, and other earthwork operations.
Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and governmental personnel, ensuring that all geotechnical concerns are addressed comprehensively.
Mentor and train junior geotechnical engineers and foster their professional development.
Play an active role in professional associations.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in civil engineering suffices; a master's degree in geotechnical engineering would be helpful.

The successful candidate should be a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Indiana.
Local experience and familiarity with the local engineering practice.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working.
Geotechnical background including fundamental knowledge of principles of geotechnical engineering, soil and rock mechanics, pavement engineering, and groundwater hydrology.
Experience in construction oversight for foundation and pavement construction and earthwork observation.
Experience with geotechnical engineering software; we would rather you were well-versed in a few than only-sort-of-acquainted with many.
Familiarity with AASHTO standards, guidelines, and deliverables.
Demonstrated ability to lead small to medium-scale geotechnical projects and manage field geologists and engineers.
