About this role
Role Overview
Provide strategic and operational leadership for compliance and privacy programs.
Serve as the health system’s designated Corporate Compliance Officer and Privacy Officer.
Champion a system-wide culture of compliance.
Direct the review, promotion, and evaluation of compliance/privacy issues and concerns within the health system.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related area
Law, business or related advanced degree, preferred.
Five years of corporate compliance, risk management, legal, human resources, or other equivalent experience.
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and local third party carrier regulations.
Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., Department of Health, The Joint Commission, and Medicare Conditions of Participation).
Working knowledge of laws and issues affecting the health care industry, including consequences of non-compliance.
Exhibits in-depth knowledge and understanding of the ethical principles and legal obligations related to health care operations.
Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Highly motivated and self-directed; works effectively under pressure.
Proactively identifies issues and effectively problem solves.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; communicates effectively with peers, staff, legal counsel and physicians.
Builds and maintains strong collaborative working relationships across the system and with key federal and state regulators.
Conducts business in a professional and cordial manner that upholds the integrity and reputation of Mount Nittany Medical Health System.
Knowledge of human resource laws and regulations as they relate to the management of staff.
