The Virtualization Engineer (Citrix) will administer a variety of virtualization environments – including Windows, Citrix, and Linux; and author and utilize scripting languages – such as PowerShell – to automate tedious, repetitive, and/or error prone tasks related to installation, configuration, and management of IT systems and services.
The successful candidate will have robust experience installing, configuring, implementing, and validating components installation on networks – to included Citrix and Microsoft virtualization applications and tools.
They will also plan, direct, and conduct regular, special, and integrated system test programs on virtualization equipment.
The Virtualization Engineer (Citrix) will also prepare and conduct special reports and presentations that may review operations; and may coordinate with other engineers to support mission operations.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing custom design solutions based on available technologies to deliver virtualization platforms to end users with defined groups and access controls.
Additionally, the Virtualization Engineer (Citrix) will be responsible for planning and leading projects related to virtualization; and be able to delineate products and services; support equipment, computer, and electronic equipment installations in support of mission operations.
The Virtualization Engineer (Citrix) may also provide training to junior personnel.
Requirements
Active Top Secret clearance, this position may require the successful completion of a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph
At least five (5+) years of experience in designing, managing, administering, documenting, troubleshooting, and supporting multiple heterogeneous computer networks in both production and development environments
Robust knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops, Citrix ADC (Netscaler), Microsoft Failover Cluster, Microsoft Hyper-V Manager, Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM)
Experience with hypervisors and virtualization sub-systems
Robust experience troubleshooting and providing advanced technical support
Experience designing and implementing Cloud-based solutions that provide remote access experiences
Experience with using Active Directory (AD) groups to control access to various resources
Bachelor’s degree in system administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics, or related area OR in lieu of education ten (10+) plus years of experience in designing, managing, administering, documenting, troubleshooting, and supporting multiple heterogeneous computer networks in both production and development environments
Experience with container systems; Xenapp Server; VMWare; ESX Server; and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) methodologies.
