Duties include pre-award administration of grants and oversight of grant-related compliance regulations.
Major functions are pre-award grants management and administration for federal and private foundations for basic sciences and clinical research.
Assigned complex and challenging grant submissions including program project grants, center grants, and large grants with varying subcontracts.
Responsibilities include coordination of grant submissions, setting timelines, providing guidance, development of budgets for grant proposals, award analysis, preparation of subcontract agreements.
Maintenance of file management systems, conflict of interest management, and subrecipient monitoring.
Assurance of agency and campus policy compliance.
Highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently as well as within a team.
Flexible with the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
Expected to function independently and assist with new hire training regarding pre-award issues.
Requirements
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Bachelor's degree
5 years recent relevant experience
Advanced analytical skills
Generalized knowledge of policies and procedures in more than one functional area or substantive knowledge in a specialized field
Knowledge of federal government circulars (OMB A-110, A-122 and A-133) and state and local regulations
Communication skills (both written and oral) in the English language
Ability to articulate needs and questions clearly
Organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented, work quickly and accurately, able to multi-task
Ability to work with competing deadlines and numerous personalities with diplomacy and tact
Independent work with minimal supervision
